Americans for African Adoptions, Inc. Americans for African Adoptions, Inc. (AFAA) has been a US licensed and an IRS registered, non-profit, international adoption agency since 1986. AFAA has been a member of the Joint Council on International Children's Services (JCICS) since 1988. AFAA's website is old but a current mini CD is available for prospective families. AFAA is an adoption agency solely devoted to assisting African orphan children. Families are needed for children four years of age and older, siblings and HIV+ babies/toddlers. AFAA maintains foster homes in Ethiopia, Liberia, Uganda and Nigeria and has humanitarian aid programs in the four African countries. AFAA was the first US based adoption agency to start working in Ethiopia in 1986.

Independent Adoption Center IAC is a National Open Adoption Agency that informs, supports, and guides birth and adoptive parents through the process of creating healthy new families. IAC has successfully placed nearly 4,000 newborns, since 1982. IAC's professional staff provides support and counseling for birthparents, works closely with adoptive parents throughout the adoption process, and provides ongoing post-placement support and consultation for birthparents and adoptive families.
