Navratilova's Adoption Dreams on Hold as She Focuses on Cancer Treatment

Martina Navratilova, the former world No. 1 tennis player, has put her adoption plans on hold while she undergoes treatment for cancer. According to her wife, Julia Lemigova, the couple had been planning to adopt a child, but Navratilova's recent cancer diagnosis has forced them to delay the process.

In a statement, Lemigova said, "We have always wanted to adopt a child and were in the process of doing so when Martina was diagnosed with cancer. We have had to put our plans on hold for now, but we remain committed to starting a family once Martina is feeling better."

Navratilova, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, has been vocal about her battle with cancer and has used her platform to raise awareness about the disease. Despite her setback, the tennis icon remains optimistic about the future and is determined to beat cancer.

Navratilova has previously spoken about her desire to start a family with Lemigova, whom she married in 2014. In an interview with The Telegraph in 2020, Navratilova said, "We would love to have children. We've talked about it a lot, and we're definitely planning on it."
